provide the ground path. That's why I'd try getting the horns to sound using a jumper via the connector that's just before the steering column (I just don't recall if key has to be ON for horns to work, don't think so but look at the wiring diagram). You'll rule out the engine to cabin wiring harness as the issue. It's very possible the ground connection to the steering wheel is the issue too - but given both the horn buttons and steering wheel ground both pass thru slip a ring connector that's a common thread for failure. Did this issue just start happening or was an accident or other car work involved???
